A global cinematic journey: ‘Shri Radha Ramanam’ brings Lord Krishna’s tale to life
A cross-continental collaboration
Creativeland Studios Entertainment is embarking on an ambitious project to bring the enchanting story of Hindu god Lord Krishna to the global stage with their upcoming film, “Shri Radha Ramanam”. This India-U.K.-U.S. collaboration aims to captivate international audiences with the timeless tale of Krishna’s love.
A powerhouse team
At the helm of this project is C. Sajan Raj Kurup, founder and managing director of Creativeland Studios Entertainment. Kurup has teamed up with bestselling author Amish Tripathi, renowned for his mythological fiction series like the “Shiva Trilogy” and “Ram Chandra”. Tripathi, who has sold over seven million copies of his works, brings his expertise in reimagining Indian mythology to the role of creative director for this film.
Crafting a magical tale
The screenplay for “Shri Radha Ramanam” is crafted by writers Prakash Kapadia and Raam Mori, following two years of meticulous research to ensure authenticity. The film promises to be a “magical tale” that resonates with audiences worldwide.
A stellar production team
Leading the production is Shobha Sant, CEO of Creativeland Studios Entertainment. The project boasts a team of industry veterans, including mythology specialist Hardik Gajjar, known for his work on the series “Siya Ke Ram” (2015-16), who will direct the film. Cinematographer Ayananka Bose, celebrated for his recent work on Bollywood hits like “Satyaprem Ki Katha” (2023) and “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar” (2023), will bring his visual expertise to the project.
Visual effects and pre-production
The film’s visual effects will be a collaborative effort between studios in Vancouver, Los Angeles, and Mumbai, tasked with recreating the ancient cities of Vrindavan, Barsana, and Dwarka. Pre-production and VFX asset creation are already underway, with principal photography scheduled to begin in November. The worldwide theatrical release is slated for February 2026.
International market strategy
Creativeland Studios Entertainment’s London-based group company, Creators Inc, will leverage its expertise in content curation for the international market on “Shri Radha Ramanam”. Creators Inc recently achieved success with Warner Bros. and HBO’s acquisition of their documentary “The Commandant’s Shadow”, which received a wide theatrical release.
U.S. representation and distribution
In the U.S., David Unger’s Artist International Group (AIG) will handle representation. Talks are already underway with major exhibitors, potentially setting up “Shri Radha Ramanam” for one of the widest U.S. releases for an Indian film. This project marks a significant step in Creativeland Studios Entertainment’s global strategy, following their recent joint venture with AIG to represent Indian talent worldwide.
The legend of Lord Krishna
Lord Krishna, a central figure in Hinduism, is revered as the eighth avatar of the god Vishnu. Known for his role in the ancient Indian epic “Mahabharata” and as the divine speaker of the “Bhagavad Gita”, Krishna is often depicted as a charismatic and multifaceted deity. His legends, particularly his romantic relationship with Radha, have been a rich source of inspiration for Indian art, literature, and culture for centuries.
A mission to tell Indian stories globally
Kurup expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “Telling stories from India on a global scale is our mission at Creativeland Studios Entertainment, and what better story to tell the world than Lord Krishna’s story of love, especially in the times we live in now. As they say, in troubled times, love is the best language to heal souls. The story of Lord Krishna speaks of compassion, love, and protection, resonating with audiences across the globe. It is great to have Amish and the rest of the strong and passionate global team we have been able to put together to bring this project to life.”
Exploring deeper narratives
Tripathi added, “Traditional Indian stories have a deep narrative in which you can get pleasurably lost, but also teach you deeper lessons, so that you can live better. I love the script of this movie, not just for its fantastic scale and research, but also how it helps us explore different aspects of love through the story of Lord Krishna. This movie will be the definitive love story from India to the world; the love story of love stories.”
A cinematic experience to look forward to
As the world eagerly awaits the release of “Shri Radha Ramanam”, it is clear that this film will be a significant milestone in bringing Indian mythology to a global audience. With a talented team and a compelling story, this project promises to be a cinematic experience that transcends cultural boundaries and resonates with viewers worldwide.
