The first two episodes of this 10-part series have just premiered on the KT Genie TV platform, with a subsequent rollout on the Korean network ENA. The series is directed by award-winning directors Pyo Min-Soo, known for Moon in the Day and The Third Charm, and Yoo Jong-Sun, who directed Pale Moon and Designated Survivor: 60 Days.
A stellar cast
The Korean adaptation features a star-studded cast, with Son Hyun-Joo taking on the lead role as the judge. Son Hyun-Joo is known for his performances in Captivating the King and The Good Detective. He is joined by Kim Myung-Min from Law School, Kim Do-Hoon from The Escape of the Seven, Heo Nam-Jun from The Impossible Heir, and Jung Eun-Chae from Pachinko. Originally titled Kvodo when it launched on Yes TV in 2017, Your Honor is a legal thriller that tells the story of a respected senior judge whose son is involved in a hit-and-run accident. The judge faces difficult choices and consequences as he attempts to protect his son. Created by Shlomo Mashiach and Ron Ninio, with Mashiach as the writer and Ninio directing, the original series was produced by Koda Communications and Yes TV. The Korean adaptation stays true to the core themes of the original while adding its unique cultural nuances.
