The first documentary in the fall lineup is Wild Hogs and Saffron, directed by Andy Sarjahani. This short film captures a wild hog hunt in the Ozarks, leading to an unexpectedly intimate conversation between Sarjahani, an Iranian American filmmaker, and his childhood friend Bubba. Make Peace or Die: Honor the Fallen
Make Peace or Die: Honor the Fallen, directed by Manny Marquez, tells the story of U.S. Marine Corps veteran Anthony Marquez. After returning from Afghanistan deeply wounded and burdened with survivor’s guilt, Marquez dedicates himself to helping Gold Star families find healing, in hopes of healing himself as well. This series of musical animated shorts, The History of White People in America, examines how skin color has come to define race in the United States. Closing out the lineup on November 12 is United States of Comedy, a short documentary by Habib Yazdi. This film highlights emerging voices in comedy from culturally diverse communities across the United States, showcasing their stand-up sets alongside visuals from their hometowns and families.
