Honoring humanitarian efforts at the Venice International Film Festival
Celebrating Richard Gere’s dedication
The Venice International Film Festival is not just a showcase of cinematic brilliance but also a platform to honor those who have made significant humanitarian contributions. This year, the spotlight shines on Richard Gere, who will be awarded the Award of Inspiration by amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research. Gere’s relentless efforts in the fight against AIDS have set him apart in the entertainment industry. His compassion and commitment to aiding marginalized communities make him a beacon of hope and an inspiration to many.
“Few in the entertainment industry have done as much as Richard Gere to advance the fight against AIDS,” remarked amfAR CEO Kevin Robert Frost. “His humanitarian instincts and deep desire to help those on the margins of society make him an inspiration to us all here at amfAR.”
Recognizing Mohammed Al Turki’s leadership
Another notable honoree at the gala is Mohammed Al Turki, a film producer, businessman, and philanthropist. Al Turki will receive the Philanthropic Leadership Award for his unwavering support and leadership. His role as the former CEO of the Red Sea Film Foundation has been instrumental in fostering a strong partnership with amfAR, significantly advancing their lifesaving research.
“Thanks in part to Mohammed Al Turki’s leadership, The Red Sea International Film Festival has been a loyal supporter of amfAR’s work for many years,” Frost added. ”Through their generosity and partnership, they have helped advance our lifesaving research.”

The gala promises not only to honor these remarkable individuals but also to entertain. Rumer Willis is set to perform, joining the previously announced Kelly Rowland. Their performances are sure to add a touch of glamour and excitement to the evening.
