This prestigious event, in collaboration with Lifetime, will spotlight the achievements of Amy Adams, Bela Bajaria, Carol Burnett, and Zoe Saldaña. Each honoree will grace the cover of the Power of Women issue, alongside other notable women featured in the annual Women’s Impact Report.
Amy Adams: Championing foster youth
Six-time Oscar nominee and Golden Globe winner Amy Adams, known for her upcoming role in Nightbitch, will use her platform to support The RightWay Foundation. This organization is dedicated to helping foster youth in Los Angeles transition into stable adulthood through supportive housing, mental health services, employment opportunities, and community building.
Bela Bajaria: Advocating for children’s education
Netflix’s Chief Content Officer, Bela Bajaria, will highlight the impactful work of Room to Read’s Girls’ Education Program. This initiative focuses on improving literacy and education for girls across Asia and Africa, ensuring that children have the resources they need to succeed academically and beyond.
Carol Burnett: Funding research for brain disorders
Emmy, Golden Globe, Tony, and Grammy award-winning comedian and actor Carol Burnett, who recently appeared in Apple TV+’s Palm Royale, will discuss her support for The Hereditary Disease Foundation. This foundation is at the forefront of funding innovative research aimed at curing Huntington’s disease and other brain disorders.
Zoe Saldaña: Providing essentials for children in need
Zoe Saldaña, star of Netflix’s Emilia Pérez and Paramount+’s Lioness, will lend her voice to Baby2Baby. This organization is committed to providing basic necessities to children living in poverty, ensuring they have the essentials for a healthy and happy life.
Sarah Hyland: Receiving the first-ever Variety Courage Award
In a special segment, actor Sarah Hyland will be honored with the inaugural Variety Courage Award, presented by Purina. This award recognizes her outspoken advocacy for survivors of domestic violence. Hyland’s efforts align with Purina’s Purple Leash Program, an initiative with RedRover that aims to make domestic violence shelters pet-friendly. This program addresses the critical need for survivors to escape abuse without leaving their pets behind, a mission supported by over 50 grants to increase the number of pet-friendly shelters in the U.S.
Leslie Jones: Hosting the event
The event will be hosted by Emmy-nominated actor and comedian Leslie Jones, who recently lent her voice to Marvel’s Hit-Monkey on Hulu. Jones’ dynamic presence is sure to add an extra layer of excitement to the evening.
