Paramount+ to debut on Monomax in November
Paramount Global Content Distribution has announced a strategic partnership with Thailand’s Monomax to introduce a Paramount+ branded extension on the streaming platform. This exciting development is set to launch in November, marking a significant expansion of the Paramount+ brand in Southeast Asia.
A global strategy for local markets
The announcement was made at the APOS conference in Indonesia by Lisa Kramer, President of International Content Licensing at Paramount. This move aligns with Paramount’s broader strategy to extend the reach of its streaming service globally. In some regions, Paramount+ operates as a standalone direct-to-consumer product, while in others, it is integrated into existing platforms through licensing agreements. For instance, branded areas are available via Cosmote in Greece, Streamz in Belgium, MultiChoice in Africa, and JioCinema in India. The service is also set to launch on Blast TV in the Philippines.
Diverse content offerings for Monomax subscribers
In its inaugural year, the Paramount+ hub on Monomax will provide subscribers with a rich array of content from Showtime, CBS Studios, and Paramount Pictures. This includes popular series such as FBI: International, NCIS, NCIS: Sydney, Mayor Of Kingstown, Tulsa King, and Halo. Additionally, blockbuster films like Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts, Hellraiser, and the Mission: Impossible franchise will be available.
Elevating entertainment offerings in Thailand
Navamin Prasopnet, CEO of Mono, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “By partnering with Paramount Global Content Distribution, we are able to elevate our offerings significantly. Paramount has an impressive catalog of content that has consistently garnered popularity among Thai viewers.”
Dan Cohen, Chief Content Licensing Officer for Paramount and President of Republic Pictures, added, “Our core strategy at Paramount Global Content Distribution continues to focus on delivering audiences the best quality entertainment, across multiple content pillars and genres, in innovative and accessible new ways, and this new deal with Mono does just that.”
Mono’s expanding entertainment landscape
Mono, a well-established media group, is broadening its entertainment business to cater to diverse audience needs. The company’s flagship digital TV channel, MONO29, is a free TV channel known for its extensive collection of blockbuster movies and hit series. Monomax, its subscription video streaming service, offers a curated selection of content tailored specifically for Thai viewers.
