Charades secures global distribution for award-winning film “Vermiglio”
A cinematic triumph finds its way to international audiences
Paris-based sales company Charades has successfully brokered deals with distributors across major territories for the critically acclaimed film “Vermiglio”. Directed by Maura Delpero, the movie recently won the prestigious Silver Lion Award at the Venice Film Festival and has been selected as Italy’s submission for the Oscars.
Expanding horizons: Global distribution deals
Following its North American premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, “Vermiglio” was acquired by Sideshow and Janus Films for U.S. rights. Charades has now extended its reach, securing distribution in the U.K. (Modern), Australia/New Zealand (Madman), Spain (Karma Films), Portugal (Leopardo Filmes), Greece (Weird Wave), Israel (Lev Cinema), Lebanon and the Gulf (Moving Turtle), CIS (Exponenta), Bulgaria (MCF Megacom Film), Hungary (Mozinet Ltd), Poland (Gutek Film LTD), French-Speaking Africa (Moving Turtle), and Indonesia (Falcon).
In addition, the film will be released in France (Paname Distribution), Benelux (O’Brother), and Italy, where Lucky Red initiated a limited release on September 19 and plans to expand further this weekend. Charades is also in the process of negotiating deals for Latin America and Scandinavia.
