Zachary Levi’s political journey: From RFK Jr. to Trump
A surprising endorsement
Zachary Levi, known for his role as the titular hero in Shazam!, made headlines recently with his endorsement of Donald Trump for president. This announcement came during a rally in Michigan, where Levi shared his political evolution and the reasons behind his support.
A conservative upbringing
Levi began his speech by providing some context about his background. “I grew up in a Christian conservative family,” he explained. “My parents were Kennedy Democrats who later became Reagan Republicans. They taught me to have a healthy level of distrust for the government and industries that run amok.”
The RFK Jr. connection
Throughout the summer, Levi was a vocal supporter of RFK Jr.’s presidential bid. He praised the politician as “the best we’ve had in a long time.” However, with RFK Jr. dropping out of the race last month, Levi found himself at a crossroads.
Searching for the ideal candidate
Levi expressed his frustration in finding a politician who aligned with his values. “For a long time, I wanted a candidate who represented everything I believed in,” he said. “This year, I found Bobby Kennedy, and I thought, ‘This guy is it. He’s the real deal.’ But we don’t live in a perfect world.”
A broken system
Levi’s speech took a somber turn as he discussed the current state of the country. “We live in a very broken world,” he stated. “Our country has been hijacked by people who want to take it off a cliff. We need to stop that.”
Standing with Trump
Despite his initial support for RFK Jr., Levi ultimately decided to back Donald Trump. “We have two choices, and of the two, President Trump is the man who can get us there,” he declared. “He has the backing, support, wisdom, knowledge, and fight that exists in Robert Kennedy Jr. and former representative Tulsi Gabbard.”
A versatile career
Beyond his political views, Levi has had a diverse career in entertainment. In addition to his role in Shazam! and its sequel, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, he voiced Flynn Ryder in the 2010 animated film Tangled. Fans can also look forward to his appearance in the upcoming Harold and the Purple Crayon.
