Banijay Entertainment unveils an exciting Mipcom lineup
Banijay Entertainment is set to captivate audiences with its diverse and dynamic lineup at this year’s Mipcom. From gripping crime dramas to historical epics and innovative non-fiction projects, the offerings promise to showcase the company’s storytelling prowess and the exceptional talent behind its intellectual properties.
A showcase of storytelling excellence
Cathy Payne, CEO of Banijay Rights, expressed enthusiasm about the lineup, stating, “Our dynamic lineup for this year’s Mipcom truly highlights the continued growth and global appeal of our catalog.” The selection includes riveting dramas like Bergerac and Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light, as well as high-end factual series such as Eva Longoria: Searching for Spain. Payne emphasized the celebration of storytelling and the outstanding talent behind Banijay’s intellectual properties.
James Townley and Lucas Green, Banijay’s Chief Content Officers, highlighted the company’s commitment to creating popular IPs and evolving classic favorites. They noted the success of new traveling hits like The Summit and Deal or No Deal Island, which illustrate Banijay’s expertise in building the next generation of superbrands.

Bergerac
The reimagined Bergerac series, ordered by UKTV’s U&Drama and its free streaming platform U, honors the 1980s original while adding a contemporary twist. Unlike the original, this reboot features a character-led murder mystery spread across six episodes. The series is produced by BlackLight TV and written by Toby Whithouse, Brian Fillis, Catherine Tregenna, and Polly Buckle.
Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light
Following the success of Wolf Hall in 2015, this new series continues the story of Thomas Cromwell, played by Mark Rylance, and King Henry VIII, portrayed by Damian Lewis. Directed by Peter Kosminsky and adapted by Peter Straughan, the series is produced by Playground and Company Pictures.
The One That Got Away
Set on the Welsh coast, this crime drama stars Elen Rhys, Richard Harrington, and Rhian Blythe. Written by Catherine Tregenna and directed by Sion Ifan, the series follows a small town grappling with the possibility of a copycat killer after a nurse is murdered. Blacklight produces the series for S4C.
We Go Again
Created by Janice Okoh and based on her play “Three Birds,” this six-part series for BBC Three and BBC iPlayer offers an irreverent portrait of Black working-class teenage life. The series follows three optimistic siblings with a dark secret and is produced by The Forge Entertainment.

Starring Jill Halfpenny and Rupert Penry-Jones, this six-part domestic thriller is produced by Lonesome Pine Productions in association with Banijay Rights and North East Screen. Written by Aschlin Ditta and directed by Andy de Emmony, the series airs on Channel 5.
A Remarkable Place to Die
Produced by Screentime New Zealand and Real Film Berlin, this crime drama follows Detective Anais Mallory as she returns to her hometown to solve a series of unique murders. The series is created by Philly de Lacey and written by John Banas, with directors Peter Burger, Josh Frizzell, Caroline Bell-Booth, and Charlie Haskell.
Accidentally Famous
Inspired by the formation of the Italian pop band 883, this drama series is co-produced by Sky Studios and Groenlandia. Directed by Sydney Sibilia, Francesco Ebbasta, and Alice Filippi, the series is written by Francesco Agostini, Chiara Laudani, and Giorgio Nerone.
The Family Detective
This TF1-commissioned crime drama, produced by Shine Fiction, follows a couple obsessed with crime novels and their police captain daughter, who receives but never needs their help.
SAS Rogue Heroes Season 2
Written and created by Steven Knight, this WWII military drama is produced by Kudos and co-produced by MGM+ for BBC iPlayer and BBC One. Inspired by Ben Macintyre’s best-selling book, Season 2 is directed by Stephen Woolfenden.
