Chile’s Storyboard Media joins forces with Latin American filmmakers for ‘Wildness’
A new crime drama on the horizon
Chile’s Storyboard Media, led by Gabriela Sandoval and Carlos Nuñez, has announced its involvement in the upcoming crime drama “Wildness” (“Salvajes”). This project is a collaboration between two of Latin America’s prominent female filmmakers, Claudia Huaiquimilla from Chile and Joanna Lombardi from Peru. The partnership was formalized at the Madrid-based Iberseries & Platino Industria conference, where the project was featured in the co-production forum.
A gripping tale inspired by true events
“Wildness” is penned by Diego Vega, known for his works “October” and “El Mudo.” The narrative is set in the 1970s and follows the tumultuous journey of a fading Parisian model and a young surfer who turn to drug dealing to sustain their extravagant lifestyle. The story begins in Paris and spirals into a tragic series of events on the remote shores of Peru. For more details, you can check out the trailer.
A perfect collaboration
Gabriela Sandoval expressed her enthusiasm about the collaboration:
“We are very excited to finally collaborate with Joanna Lombardi. We have been exploring ways to join forces and develop a film together for some time now. ‘Wildness’ seems like the perfect project to move forward with, not only taking advantage of the new co-production agreement between Chile and Peru but also because, cinematically, it’s a film that will make an impact at festivals and resonate with global audiences…a perfect mix.”
Joanna Lombardi echoed this sentiment, highlighting the unique nature of the project:
“‘Wildness’ is a bit like a modern ‘Bonnie and Clyde’, a genre film but brought into the Latin American reality, with everything that entails. It’s a great joy to announce this co-production with Storyboard. I can’t think of a better project to finally work with Gaby and Carlos. We’re very excited for what’s to come.”

The production team for “Wildness” includes Sandoval, Núñez, Lombardi, and Ricardo Chadwick, representing their respective companies: Storyboard (Chile), El Arbol Azul (Peru), and La Family (Peru).
