This acquisition highlights the growing international demand for compelling horror content from Indonesia, a country that has consistently delivered unique and chilling narratives.
The plot deepens: ‘Perewangan’ promises supernatural thrills
Set to hit theaters later this month, Perewangan follows the harrowing journey of Maya and Wulan. As their prosperous family business collapses, they find themselves up against a malevolent force. The film’s intricate storyline delves deep into the supernatural, promising viewers an eerie and unforgettable experience.
The mastermind behind the horror
Awi Suryadi, a celebrated filmmaker renowned for his work on “KKN Di Desa Penari”—the highest-grossing Indonesian film to date—and the popular Danur franchise, helms this project. His expertise in crafting spine-tingling narratives ensures that Perewangan will leave audiences on the edge of their seats.
Stellar cast and crew
The film stars Davina Karamoy, Restu Triandy, and popular musician Shanty. Their compelling performances are set to bring depth and realism to this horror tale, immersing the audience in the terrifying world that Suryadi has created.

- “Chabak”: A horror thriller that topped Netflix Korea, produced by the legendary Tiger Yeongseop Kim.
- “Gurkha Warrior”: A historical drama from Nepal.
Bridging cultures: The formation of EST N8
EST N8 represents a merger between EST Studios and N8. EST Studios, established in 2022, showcases Asian content across various genres and aims to support 15 projects annually. Founded by Jaeson Ma and Eric Tu, EST Studios is committed to producing, financing, and representing dynamic content that resonates globally.
N8, based in Thailand, was founded by Kris Eiamsakulrat and Rachel Wu. In a landmark move last year, N8 partnered with leading Thai studio GDH559 to co-produce a series of Thai thriller and horror films for an international audience.
