“Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey” was the most-watched series on Netflix during the week of Nov. 25 to Dec. 1. In those seven days, the docuseries hit 13.4 million views.
The series hit Netflix one month before the 28th anniversary of Ramsey’s murder in 1996. The case has long been a pop culture obsession, as documented in the 2017 film “Casting JonBenét,” which also streams on Netflix.
The No. 2 TV title of the week was the Colman Domingo-led thriller “The Madness,” hitting 9.3 million views in its first four days on Netflix. It was followed by “A Man on the Inside,” a comedy from Mike Schur starring Ted Danson, which achieved 7 million views in its first full week of streaming after debuting at No. 1 the week before.
Over on the film chart, it was “Our Little Secret” that took the top spot — and was also the most-watched title overall on Netflix. Starring Lindsay Lohan, Ian Harding and Kristin Chenoweth, the Christmas movie hit 32.4 million views in five days.
Popular on Variety “Spellbound,” an animated children’s film starring Rachel Zegler, was the second-most-watched movie with 15.3 million views, followed by another Christmas film, “The Merry Gentlemen,” with 9.8 million.
Back on the TV chart, Season 2 of “Arcane” had its fourth week on the chart, this time with 4.2 million views, beating out the No. 5 debut of “Is It Cake? Holiday” with 3.5 million views while also boosting Season 1 of “Arcane” back to the chart at No. 9 with 2.2 million views. Season 6 of “Cobra Kai” hit 2.6 million views in its seventh week on the chart and the second full week of availability of the most recent batch of episodes.
Anthony Jeselnik’s comedy special “Bones and All” debuted at No. 7 with 2.4 million views, and Chapter 4 of “The Creature Cases” followed closely behind, debuting with 2.3 million. In its eighth week on the chart, “Outer Banks” Season 4 took tenth place with 1.6 million views.
