Walden Media has named Juliana Janes as executive vice president of development and production.
At the studio behind Apple’s Lincoln assassination series “Manhunt” and the upcoming Russell Crowe drama “Nuremberg,” Janes will elevate the content slate working closely with writers, directors and producers. She’ll report to Walden production president Benjamin Tappan.
Janes comes from Bron, the edgy label where she served as EVP across both film and television. There, she developed projects including “Kin” and “Ten Percent” and the upcoming “Americana,” a feature starring Sydney Sweeney and Paul Walter Hauser.
“Juliana’s passion for storytelling and enviable record of success in film and television makes her a perfect fit for Walden’s mission of delivering narratives that inspire and resonate with audiences,” said Tappan. “Her commitment to fostering creativity aligns seamlessly with our mission to bring forth stories that challenge and uplift viewers.”
Popular on Variety Prior to Bron, Janes served as senior vice president of development and production at Gulfstream Pictures, where she oversaw all creative aspects of the company’s projects in collaboration with Warner Bros. Television. Her portfolio included producing the Disney+ film “Secret Society of Second Born Royals” and development on a “Green Eggs and Ham” series for Netflix.
Earlier, she partnered with actor Jennifer Garner to launch Vandalia Films, which focused on elevating female-driven content, championed female writers and forged partnerships with many women-led companies.
“Joining Walden Media is a tremendous opportunity to contribute to an established brand that embraces so many stories of adventure, resilience, empathy and courage” said Janes. “I am excited to join the talented Walden team in their quest to unearth compelling and important stories to inspire and excite audiences around the world.”
Also joining Walden is creative executive Jacquelina Rosso, formerly of Shawn Levy’s 21 Laps Entertainment.
