Fremantle’s Original Productions welcomes Alison Dammann as head of development
A new chapter in content creation
Alison Dammann has taken on the role of head of development at Fremantle’s Original Productions, stepping into a position that was previously managed by Jeff Bumgarner. Bumgarner has transitioned to a new role as senior VP of new business development, focusing on expanding the company’s revenue streams and partnerships.
Leading the charge in content innovation
In her new role, Dammann will spearhead the development of content across various platforms, including linear TV, streaming services, and social media. Reporting directly to Brian Lovett, the executive VP at Original Productions, Dammann’s expertise is expected to drive the company’s creative vision forward.
“Over the past few years, OP has continued to evolve, expanding into new genres of entertainment and embracing innovative ways of delivering content to viewers,” said Jeff Hasler, president of Original Productions. “Bringing Alison into the company in this new role is an exciting step forward, ensuring that we keep pushing boundaries and taking advantage of all of the unique opportunities to reach our audience in fresh, meaningful ways.”
A proven track record in true crime and investigative content
Dammann’s previous experience at Good Caper Content, a division of ITV America, highlights her proficiency in developing compelling true crime and investigative series. Her portfolio includes the Emmy-nominated limited series Escaping Twin Flames and Keep Sweet: Pray and Obey for Netflix, as well as Let Us Prey: A Ministry of Scandals for ID, and Exposing Parchman for A&E. Her work extends to Oxygen’s New York Homicide, Sins of the South, and Final Moments.
Expanding horizons with new business development
Jeff Bumgarner, who has been with Original Productions since 2010, will now focus on exploring new revenue streams through direct-to-consumer efforts. His new role aims to enhance the company’s collaborations and opportunities for brand partnerships, talent deals, and co-productions.
Original Productions’ impressive portfolio
Original Productions is renowned for its long-running hits such as Deadliest Catch and Bering Sea Gold. The company has also produced the critically acclaimed documentary Rather, which delves into the life and work of Dan Rather, and the Netflix docuseries Waco: American Apocalypse. Other notable productions include Max’s Chasing Flavor and USA’s Race to Survive.
Additionally, Original Productions is behind the FAST channel RIG TV, which features episodes of Monster Garage, Jay Leno’s Garage, Black Gold, Swords: Life on the Line, Monster House, and Wild Justice.
Looking ahead
With Dammann at the helm of development and Bumgarner exploring new business avenues, Original Productions is poised to continue its legacy of creating engaging and innovative content. The company’s commitment to pushing creative boundaries and exploring new opportunities ensures that it remains a significant player in the entertainment industry.
