A new chapter in media and communications
Ashley Hansen, a seasoned media and communications expert, has embarked on a new venture by launching her own PR consultancy, Three Gate Strategies. This new firm will continue to represent the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, among other high-profile clients.
The inspiration behind the name
The name Three Gate Strategies is inspired by the renowned poet Rumi, who once wrote, “Before you speak, let your words pass through three gates. Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it kind?” This philosophy underscores the company’s commitment to thoughtful and impactful communication.
Continuing the legacy with Archewell
Hansen will maintain her role overseeing the international team that advises the Duke and Duchess on their philanthropic endeavors and creative projects under the Archewell banner. This includes working closely with the Duchess on new business ventures. The consultancy will cater to prominent figures and institutions across various sectors, including entertainment, technology, and finance.
A journey from the UK to California
Hansen joined Meghan and Harry shortly after their move from the UK to California. She played a pivotal role in the launch of Prince Harry’s best-selling memoir, “Spare”, and Meghan’s Spotify podcast, “Archetypes”. Additionally, she was instrumental in the premiere of their Netflix docuseries and managed communications during the global mourning of Queen Elizabeth II.
The team behind the scenes
The Archewell team will continue to be supported in-house by Miranda Babot, Deesha Tank, Kyle Boulia, and Charlie Gipson, who are based in Los Angeles and London. This team will ensure that the Duke and Duchess’ projects and philanthropic efforts are effectively communicated and managed.
A career built on expertise
Hansen’s career began as a producer at “Good Morning America” in New York. She later moved to the West Coast, where she served as the head of communications for Megan Ellison’s Annapurna Pictures. Her journey continued with a role as the communications head at United Talent Agency, followed by a vice president position at Universal Pictures’ filmed entertainment group. Hansen currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband, Todd, who is an animator.
