The excitement of Halloween night on ‘Dancing with the Stars’
SPOILER ALERT: This article contains spoilers from the October 29 episode of “Dancing with the Stars.”
A night full of fears and performances
Halloween night on “Dancing with the Stars” transformed the dance floor into a stage for some truly spine-tingling performances. Contestants faced off against their darkest fears, bringing out everything from snakes and boogeymen to creepy dolls and vampires. Each celebrity performed a routine inspired by their greatest nightmare, raising the stakes higher than ever before.
But the biggest fear lurking in the background was the possibility of elimination, driving each contestant to deliver their very best.
Dwight Howard’s stellar redemption
Dwight Howard, paired with Daniella Karagach, faced immense pressure as Daniella reminded him that he had yet to complete a full routine without mistakes. Rising to the occasion, Dwight delivered a haunting contemporary dance to “Ring Around the Rosie,” which not only captivated the audience but also brought both dancers to tears. Their flawless performance earned them the first 10 of the season from the discerning Carrie Ann Inaba.
Excellence in the face of fear
Dwight’s 10 was just the beginning. Carrie Ann awarded additional perfect scores to Danny Amendola and Witney Carson, Jenn Tran and Sasha Farber, Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson, as well as Stephen Nedoroscik and Rylee Arnold. Despite being tough judges, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli saved their 10s for only the most deserving performers, with Bruno giving Joey and Jenna a 10, thus propelling them to the top of the leaderboard.
The tension-filled final performance
Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong closed the night with a Viennese Waltz. Despite being safe from the previous week’s immunity, Chandler still felt the pressure after Carrie Ann’s feedback that the dance wasn’t perfect. However, they stunned the judges with their routine, earning a 9 from Carrie Ann and perfect 10s from both Bruno and Derek—Derek’s first 10 of the season.
Dance-offs that turned the tide
The Halloween episode was also marked by thrilling dance-offs. Dwight and Daniella triumphed over Ilona and Alan in a cha-cha set to “Ghostbusters.” Jenn and Sasha secured their win against Stephen and Rylee with a lively salsa to “Jump In the Line,” while Joey and Jenna’s energetic jive to “Time Warp” bested Danny and Witney.
As the night drew to a close, Chandler and Joey found themselves tied at the top of the leaderboard, while Ilona remained at the bottom. In a shocking twist, after blending the judges’ scores with audience votes, Jenn and Sasha were announced as the couple going home.
Looking ahead
While viewers may be eager for more, there will be no new episode of “Dancing with the Stars” next week due to Election Night on November 5. This hiatus gives everyone a moment to catch their breath and reflect on the electrifying and emotion-packed Halloween performances.
