Martha Stewart dishes on Ryan Reynolds’ off-screen persona
Celebrity chef shares candid feelings about the Hollywood star
In an unexpected twist, Martha Stewart recently shared her unfiltered thoughts about Ryan Reynolds, known for his humorous roles in Deadpool and Wolverine. During a lively session on the Bilt Rewards’ November Rent Free game show, Stewart was put on the spot to name celebrities most fun to hang out with, according to Bilt members.
Surprising revelations on celebrity fun factor
Stewart’s first guess was her good friend, Snoop Dogg, a choice she passionately endorsed and was delighted to find correct. However, the next celebrity on the list left her a bit taken aback — Ryan Reynolds.
“He’s probably on the list just ‘cause he covers himself up in his movies and you don’t see his face — Ryan Reynolds, is he one of those?” she pondered. Continuing with her frank disposition, she added, “And you want to know something? He’s not so funny in real life. No, he’s not so funny. He’s very serious.”
Final list and a shakeup proposal
When the final list featuring Taylor Swift, Reynolds, and Snoop Dogg was unveiled, Stewart was asked if she’d make any changes. While she affirmed her choices for Snoop and the “Cruel Summer” singer, whom she described as “lovely,” she suggested a replacement for Reynolds.
“I would take Ryan off it and put in somebody else,” she admitted. Her pick for the replacement? George Clooney. “George is really nice to hang out with,” she explained, praising Clooney’s fun personality.
Stewart wasn’t all about criticism, though. She did acknowledge Reynolds’ talent. “He’s a good actor. He can act funny, but he isn’t funny. Maybe he can get to be funny again.”
With a grin, she concluded, “I’m going to get in trouble. He’s my neighbor.”
A busy month for Martha Stewart
Stewart’s blunt commentary on Reynolds wasn’t the only highlight of her recent activities. The culinary mogul launched her new cookbook, Martha: The Cookbook: 100 Favorite Recipes, with Lessons and Stories from My Kitchen, on October 22. Alongside, R.J. Cutler’s Netflix documentary Martha premiered, providing a comprehensive look into her life and career.
This candid moment from Martha Stewart adds another dimension to her multifaceted persona, underlining her authenticity and straightforwardness, qualities that have endeared her to fans worldwide.
Despite her honest critique of Reynolds, it’s evident Stewart maintains a respectful attitude towards her peers, making her observations all the more striking.
