Karen Cynthia “KC” Fox, an Emmy-nominated set decorator and a founding member of the Set Decorators Society of America (SDSA), passed away on August 28 at her home in Los Angeles after a battle with pancreatic cancer. KC Fox’s career in set decoration spanned over 40 years, during which she worked on numerous film, TV, and commercial productions. Her most notable work includes serving as the set decorator for more than 130 episodes of the popular TV series Criminal Minds from 2013 to 2020. She also contributed to other beloved shows such as Shameless, Doogie Kamealoha, M.D., Jesse, and United States of Tara.

Fox’s talent was recognized early in her career when she received an Emmy nomination for her work on the 1993 TV movie Gypsy, starring Bette Midler. She shared this nomination with production designer Jackson De Govia and art director John R. Jensen.
