Celebrating a decade of Bleecker Street’s cinematic journey
Honoring a visionary leader
In a significant milestone for the indie film community, Bleecker Street’s CEO, Andrew Karpen, will be honored with the Variety Vanguard Award. This accolade recognizes his exceptional leadership and contributions to independent cinema. The award presentation will take place on October 5 at the New York Film Festival, during an exclusive cocktail party hosted by Variety. The event will also feature remarks from Variety’s co-editor-in-chief, Ramin Setoodeh.
A night to remember
The celebration will coincide with the New York Premiere of Mike Leigh’s latest film, Hard Truths. Scheduled for a December 6 release in a qualifying run, followed by a nationwide rollout on January 10, the film stars Academy Award nominee Marianne Jean-Baptiste and Leigh regular Michele Austin. Known for his unique perspective on the human condition, Leigh’s new film delves into complex family dynamics with his signature blend of humor and pathos.
