\tTed Danson is set to receive the Carol Burnett Award at the 82nd annual Golden Globes. <\/p>\n

\t\u201cTed Danson has entertained audiences for decades with his iconic performances that will forever be ingrained in television history,\u201d said Helen Hoehne, president of the Golden Globes. \u201cHis renowned career is a testament to his remarkable talent and versatility as an actor and bears resemblance to the award\u2019s legendary namesake. It is an honor to present him with the 2025 Carol Burnett Award to celebrate the tremendous impact he has made and continues to make in television.\u201d<\/p>\n

\tDanson will be honored alongside this year\u2019s Cecil B. DeMille Award winner, Viola Davis, at a special gala dinner on Jan. 3 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, marking the first time the awards show will host a special event dedicated to the two awards. \t<\/p>\n

\tDanson will also be recognized during the awards telecast on Jan. 5. Nominations for the 2025 Golden Globes are due to be announced on Dec. 9. <\/p>\n

\t\t\t \t\t\tPopular on Variety\t\t \t \t\t \t \tThe Carol Burnett Award was created in 2019, with Burnett herself being the first recipient. It is presented to someone who \u201chas made outstanding contributions to television on or off screen,\u201d per the Golden Globes. \u201cThe recipient is selected based on their body of work and the lasting impact of their television career achievements on both the industry and audiences.\u201d Aside from Burnett, other recipients have been Norman Lear, Ryan Murphy, and Ellen DeGeneres. <\/p>\n

\tDanson is a 13-time Golden Globe nominee and a three time winner. One of his wins came in 1985 forbest performance by an actor in a limited series, anthology series, or motion picture made for television for the film \u201cSomething About Amelia.\u201d His other two wins were for best performance by an actor in a TV series \u2014 musical or comedy for \u201cCheers\u201d in both 1990 and 1991. He has also been nominated for his work in shows like \u201cDamages,\u201d \u201cBecker,\u201d and \u201cThe Good Place.\u201d <\/p>\n

\tDanson currently stars in the Netflix series \u201cA Man on the Inside,\u201d which hails from creator Mike Schur and is based on the 2020 documentary feature \u201cThe Mole Agent.\u201d His other TV credits include \u201cMr. Mayor,\u201d \u201cFargo,\u201d \u201cCurb Your Enthusiasm,\u201d and \u201cCSI,\u201d while his film credits include \u201cHearts Beat Loud,\u201d \u201cThree Men and a Baby\u201d and its sequel, and \u201cSaving Private Ryan.\u201d \t<\/p>\n

\tNikki Glaser will host the 82nd annual Golden Globes, which airs live Jan. 5 at 8 p.m. ET\/5 p.m. PT on CBS and streaming on Paramount+ in the U.S. (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the telecast airs).<\/p>\n
