\t\u201cThat night\u2019ve been hyperbole, yeah,\u201d Carrey responded with a laugh. \u201cI came back to this universe because I get to play a genius, which is a bit of a stretch. And you know, I bought a lot of stuff and I need the money, frankly.\u201d<\/p>\n
\tWhile the first \u201cSonic\u201d movie was Carrey\u2019s first big studio film in six years, he did star in the indie movies \u201cThe Bad Batch\u201d and \u201cDark Crimes\u201d in the interim. He also headlined Showtime\u2019s comedy series \u201cKidding,\u201d which ran for 20 episodes across two seasons before being canceled. Carrey also guested on \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d as Joe Biden for six episodes in 2020.<\/p>\n
