Bridging cultures: Spain’s new audiovisual hub\u200c in Asia<\/h1>\n

In a significant move to foster\u2064 international collaboration, Akanga Film Asia<\/strong>, a \u200dSingapore-based production company, has\u2064 been appointed as the newly-launched Spanish Audiovisual Hub \u200din Asia<\/strong>. This initiative aims to strengthen ties between\u2064 the film, TV, animation, and gaming industries of Spain and Asia, creating \u2064a vibrant\u200c exchange of creativity and resources.<\/p>\n

A new era of collaboration<\/h2>\n

Headed by \u2064 Fran Borgia<\/strong>, a Spanish producer with an impressive \u2064portfolio \u200cin \u200bAsian\u2062 film production, Akanga Film Asia is set to lead this ambitious\u2063 project. Borgia’s notable works include Boo Junfeng\u2019s “Apprentice”<\/strong>, Yeo Siew Hua\u2019s\u200d Locarno-winning “A\u2064 Land Imagined”<\/strong>,\u2062 Kamila Andini\u2019s “Yuni”<\/strong>, and Amanda Nell Eu\u2019s “Tiger Stripes”<\/strong>. His \u2064extensive experience and \u200cdeep \u200dconnections in the Asian film industry make him an ideal candidate\u2063 to spearhead this initiative.<\/p>\n

The selection of Akanga Film \u2063Asia followed a competitive\u200b tender process initiated by\u200c the Economic and Commercial Office \u2063of Spain\u200d in Singapore, \u200drepresenting ICEX \u200bSpain Export and Investment<\/strong>. \u2063Borgia has been \u200cappointed as the Consultant for the Audiovisual Sector of Spain \u2062in Asia<\/strong> and will\u2063 collaborate closely with veteran producer and\u2062 festival consultant Lorna Tee<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Enhancing Spain’s global presence<\/h2>\n

The primary goal of this project is to enhance Spain\u2019s positioning<\/strong> \u2062 as \u2062a premier\u200c production country and a \u200csought-after destination for filming, post-production of live-action and digital images, and investment in the\u200b audiovisual sector. \u2063According to ICEX, the awarding of this contract\u2063 marks a significant\u200b milestone in promoting Spanish culture in the Asian region.<\/p>\n

Borgia, who has lived in Asia for over \u206320 years, expressed \u200bhis enthusiasm for the project, stating, “As a Spaniard who has lived in Asia for over 20 years, \u200dI see the vast opportunities\u2063 for collaboration between the Spanish and Asian audiovisual industries, \u200band we are excited to be building the bridges with a great \u200cteam of collaborators.”<\/p>\n
